More fun on the swings

Here is a video that J. shot yesterday... I spent a long day at the hospital, but this made me smile ever time I looked at it!

Swings

Lily spent a great couple of days with her Grandma and Grandpa... and made the most of having them push her on the swings today!

Big news!

Little did we know when Lily and I were lazily lounging on the sofa on Sunday, when J. took this photo, that we would be welcoming Lily's little brother this week!
It has been a crazy few days, so we've been a little absent-minded with the camera, but Lily took a trip to the hospital to meet her little brother today! She brought her stethoscope to show the doctor, and we were overwhelmed but ultimately pleased at how excited she was to see him... in fact, she loved looking at him so much that she threw an absolute fit when we finally had to leave. But it looks like the role of Big Sister is one that she will be great at. More photos to come over the next few days!

Practice makes perfect...

... so Lily should make a great big sister! For the past few weeks, she has been very into her new baby doll (given to her during a recent shower for her baby brother) and we having been talking about what it means to be a big sister.

Girls Day Out

J. left yesterday morning for a business trip, so it was just Lily and I. When I asked her where she wanted to go, she of course yelled, "Air plane museum!!" So I happily obliged...

She has quite the routine when we visit the National Museum of Air & Space. First, she has to greet the astronaut in the mural at the entrance.

Then she asked to "Go see helicopter upstairs?"

Next stop, before seeing the rockets, is to "See my computer?" which is a gravity demonstration set-up in the childrens area, complete with red buttons that she loves.

The doctor is in...

Lily was very intrigued by our doctor's actions during our last well visit (and I am attempting to offer some balance to all the play kitchen/pretend food time we spend in the basement) so I picked up a play doctor's kit for her this weekend. She LOVES it!

George has, much to his annoyance, become Lily's favorite patient.

Goodnight, Moon

We had fun at a fabulous production of Goodnight, Moon at the Atlas Theatre this past weekend. The set was amazing - looked just like the pages of one of Lily's favorite books.

Fountains

Lily has gotten a little bored with the same park we go to, so we've been spending a lot of time checking out different fountains in the city. This is from a few weekends ago, at a great spot near the Capitol. Lily loves watching the water, and all the people and dogs that walk by...

Harmonica

Lily is feeling quite musical these days...
