Daddy's Hat

Very into J's baseball caps lately...

Delay Tactics

Miss Lily enjoys her bath, but it is quite the struggle to get her in it these days.

Everything's in stages... we get her shirt and shoes off, but then it's time to color. She says "color" so clearly and cutely that we say okay. I know, I know... we'll have to put a stop to this soon.

Now the skirt is off but she is distracted by boxes waiting to be recycled...
No, there's no Sierra Nevada for Lily :)

Park!

Lily has always liked the park, but she's really kicked it up a notch lately. She says "park!" anytime I grab the stroller or say we are going bye-bye. It's also a page in her new favorite book, Wow! City!, so as we read each page she gets excited for the "park!" page.

Here is Lily enjoying Stanton Park on Saturday. She has no fear of the slide anymore; in fact, she tried to walk down it!
Lily's second favorite activity: a close runner-up to playing at the park is running away from Mama.
Taking a break...
Lily's friend, Lucas, worked up quite the sweat!

Here's some video of Lily in action:

Morning Routine

Lily has been alternately waking up at 5:30 am or after 7am (obviously we prefer the latter), so it's been tricky figuring out her morning routine lately. The one constant is books - if I put on her shoes, she then says "book!" and will go pick something out. Same thing if I ask her to brush her hair - she'll do it, then say "book!". Here are some recent photos.

Super Lily!

Lily has gotten into this cape lately. We usually put it on her after a bath. J. and I act like complete dorks and exclaim "Super Lily!" She gets a kick out of it. She is eating a lot these days, and we usually find her standing next to the table or the refrigerator saying she wants to eat.

All about the animals

Lily and I had a great afternoon hanging out, while we watched the Chiefs game (insert my sigh of relief that we actually won here!). Here is some video of her looking at her at some pictures of animals.

Good week in review

Such a relief that we had a better week! Lily is mostly back to her normal (and cheerful) self, and seems to be adjusting well to her new daytime routine.

Monday she was all smiles as I got her ready to leave to go to Daddy's work.
On Wednesday, she refused to take off her tiara before leaving for "school". Perhaps she is already making her mark as the princess of her new class?!
Barettes are a no-no at Tiny Findings (choking hazard), so I reluctantly took Lily for her first hair cut. Turned out pretty cute!!

If you're happy and you know it....

Adjustments

Simply put, it has been a tough week. After some traveling and then starting Lily in daycare (or as Jeremy would say, development academy), our routine has been shaken up quite a bit. Toss in the cold that Lily caught (and that I soon picked up) and it has not been the easiest week for our family. Hats off to Jeremy, rock star that he is, for calming Lily down when she's overtired from a fun-filled day (she is adjusting very well at the center and her teachers love her, of course!) and calming me down when I worry about Lily too much. Despite a cranky morning today, Lily rallied this afternoon and the three of us were able to have some fun.

This is our most common view of Lily these days... her back side as she's running away from us!
Stylin' in her Chucks...
New favorite snack... raisins.

Happy Birthday, Daddy... straight from Lily's mouth!

You might have to turn the volume up on this one, but Lily surprised us with what she said when we gave her some birthday cake.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Lily wants to say Happy Birthday to the best Daddy ever!!!

Random photos

Not much to upload from this weekend... Jeremy and I snuck away for a weekend to ourselves (thanks, Mom and Dad!)

In cleaning out the digital camera files, though, I found a few cute ones. Enjoy!

Direct quote from the J-man here: "Tell 'em I apologize for forgetting to take off my sweater." The funny man turns 33 this week!

Now some random shots from the zoo. Seems like we're there all the time now... anytime Lily seems bored, we take her for a visit. Trying to enjoy the great weather while it lasts!

Lily kept saying "moo!" at this cow, and seemed perturbed that it didn't elicit a response.

First day of daycare at Jeremy's office. Maybe it's just the shoes (thanks, Josie!) but she looks very big to me.
