Meeting Emery

Lily enjoyed seeing our friends' new baby girl, Emery. Daddy and I enjoyed a few baby snuggles, too!

Duck!

When Briant and baby Reed stopped by our house last week, there was a duck in our front yard! I can't remember ever seeing a mallard in DC, yet alone our neighborhood...
Lily was so excited, and watched him out front and fed him a few goldfish (crackers) before he waddled away.

Snow Angels

Snow!

The blizzard of '09 in DC?? It's snowing like crazy here! Lily couldn't wait to go outside and play... Noah really wanted to go where Lily and Daddy were headed, but didn't have as much fun once he was actually outside.

Her eyes look like she's smiling as Daddy takes her for a saucer ride around the block...
Could get as many as 20 inches by the time the day is over!

Wishing this was real...

Guess who asked Santa for dress up clothes this year?

O Christmas Tree

Lily has been asking about our Christmas tree since the day after Thanksgiving. With our recent travels, we figured we would wait until we were back home in DC. Lily was more than ready! After Noah went to bed, we let her stay up late and trim the tree with Mommy and Daddy. We are a house divided only by our fierce devotion to our respective sports teams. Lily took this photo after we were trying to influence her choice of which ornament to place on the tree first.
Making her stars from Kaleidoscope into ornaments...
...which she then decided belonged on our tree topper. Last year, Lily picked out this snowman but this year she told us "You have to have a star at the top of your Christmas tree." So we improvised...
Not bad!

Crown Center

While in KC, we enjoyed the holiday decorations at Crown Center. Lily loved the gingerbread village, and she and Noah had fun playing in the Crayola Village before seeing Santa. Then we headed over to Kaleidoscope...which is pretty much made for our little girl. So many arts & crafts, so little time!

Snow in Kansas City

During our trip to KC for Grandpa's 60th birthday, we got a few inches of snow. We were all surprised by how excited Lily was. It was FREEZING, but she braved the cold and had fun in the backyard before enjoying some hot chocolate inside.
