Chatterbox, pt 2

Lily had such a great time when we went out to breakfast, she talked about it the whole way home.

Weekend Highlights

We had a great weekend with my parents... Lily had a blast playing with Grandma and Grandpa!

Queen of the Castle, part 2

Lily has mastered the slide on her castle! It can literally keep her busy for hours... take a look.

Bilingual Baby

Lily's time with her wonderful nanny, Marianela, is started to show! The other day she wanted a drink, so I filled a cup with water... and she looked and me and said "Awa". Not cup, which she usually says but her own little version of agua. It was very cool to see how much she soaks up when it come to language.

Father's Day Fun

Lily has largely abandoned her Radio Flyer since she started walking on her own, but today she climbed in like she was ready for a ride. And of course, Daddy was happy to oblige and make his sweet little girl laugh :)

Out for a Nice Walk

We couldn't get Lily to take more than a few steps around her birthday, but since she started really moving a few weeks ago we cannot get her to slow down! She has forgotten that she once crawled to get around, and she is really holding her own on the tricky city sidewalks.

Happy Father's Day

Here's a shout-out to Jeremy, who is the best Daddy ever! Maybe one day I can convince to post something to our blog?!

Clownin' around with Daddy before we headed out to brunch to celebrate his big day...

Getting ready for time in the pool this afternoon. For those of you who are Sandra Boynton (Belly Button Book, anyone? It's one of Lily's favorites!) fans, check out her bathing suit...

Sunglasses

Lily's newest obsession is with sunglasses... she will actually keep them on (unlike her hat, which is a struggle!) and she loves playing with with mine.

Visit with Jeremy's Parents

Getting Grandpa Dave to read her a story...

Eating on Grandma Lois' lap
Taking a look around the American Indian museum

Weekly Photo Recap

It was a crazy week... lots going on. Check out some of the photo highlights:

Lily has started wanting to snuggle in our bed when she wakes up. She used to eat breakfast right away, but now Jeremy will change her and let her crawl into bed to "wake up Mommy". She puts her cheek right against mine, and it is the sweetest way to start the day!

Still VERY into reading... not only books but now she likes the pictures in the Post!

One of the not-so-fun parts of our one year old... the toddler behavior has started. Help, Dr. Karp!! Mealtimes easily turn into Lily pushing all the food off of her plate and then wiping her dirty hands on herself. Don't worry... I'm working through The Happiest Toddler on the Block, and Jeremy has the DVD version :)

Los Libros

Lily is all about the books these days. I took these pictures right after she woke up this morning. Diaper change, banana... and then she's off to the book shelf! Her new favorite activity is to grab a book and bring it to us to read.

We took her to a great bookstore downtown this afternoon. Her first response when we walked in was "Cool!"... which, by the way, is one of her favorite words (along with "okay"). We bought a few new tomes for the Lily library, including some Spanish word books that she can enjoy with Nela.

Heart Breaker

I could barely stand how cute she looked this morning in this t-shirt. Check out the pics of her having fun playing in her room and helping Daddy put on her shoes :)

More Air & Space

Photo highlights from a few hours spent wandering around the Air & Space museum:

I was carrying Lily in the sling and kept asking Jeremy if he wanted a picture with her. He wasn't that interested... until he saw R2 and C3P0, that is!!! Ah, the allure of mirrors...
Lily was unbelievably fascinated by this yellow fenke (dropping a little Mandinka there, for you PC peeps)... it's some shoe of the vehicle that transports rockets. Not sure why she loved it so much?

Trying to convince her that it was time to move on. We were surprised how much she enjoyed and was engaged with the hands-on area for kids!

Da plane, da plane

It was a rainy day here, so we needed to get Lily somewhere fun and indoors... we were lucky to get a great parking spot down on the National Mall and took Lily to the Air & Space museum.
