Roosevelt Island... One more cute photo from my phone

Lily hearts dinosaurs

This morning at the Museum of Natural History, Lily was really excited about the dinosaurs (and a little perturbed that Noah was so insistent on hanging out in the Ocean exhibit).

Trains at Botanical Gardens

What a great time of year in DC... starting the day after Thanksgiving, we were all pretty excited to begin checking out some of our favorite holiday locations in the city. First stop - the US Botanical Gardens, home to a pretty spectacular train exhibit each winter. On the way there, Lily kept asking about waterfalls. I kept saying "No honey, I don't think there's any waterfalls at the garden" but it turns out her memory is much better than mine. When we walked up to this point, she turned to me and said "See honey? I told you there was a waterfall..." in the sweetest voice.
Noah had a great view atop Daddy's shoulders.
Lily thought the reindeer "sculptures" were funny.

Working off our turkey

Before heading over to our Thanksgiving dinner, we started off the morning with a hike around Roosevelt Island. At first, we didn't know if we'd make it on the island as Lily was pretty happy to watch ducks from the bridge. Jeremy explained to Lily about telling a tree's age by its rings... "like birthday candles?" she asked. Exactly.
She also made sure that all four of us had big leaves to carry as we walked around.

Swing Instructor

Lily is pretty excited that her little brother is old enough to really start enjoying the playground with her. Noah loves swings as much as Lily always has, and she kept commanding him to "Say whee!"

Jockey

We pulled out our rocking horse, thinking Noah is at the perfect age to start enjoying it. But it was Lily who impressed her Daddy with her unique riding technique!

Artist in Training

Lily has always been quite the little creative thing... but lately one of her favorite things to do is to draw with her little brother.

Bibbity bobbity boo

Trick or treat

Heading to East Capitol Street for some trick-or-treating with Grandma and Grandpa... And they're off!

Lots of houses with fun, spooky decorations

Trying to achieve the impossible - a photo with both kids looking. Actually, i prefer the candids :)

Hilloween

It was crowded and a little crazy at this year's "Hilloween" at Eastern Market. Noah was surprisingly patient as Lily waited in long lines to enjoy a few of the festivities... Waiting for the moonbounce.
Love this shot of J and Lily about to head out on a horse ride
Riding the teeny carousel

Treats

Lily and I made rice krispy treats together on a pre-halloween afternoon... she liked them so much I couldn't keep her from eating from the side of the bowl!

Costume Rehearsal

After many days of begging, I finally let Lily try on her Halloween costume a few days before the big events. It wasn't enough for her to play around as Cinderella - she demanded that Noah try on his Jaq (the mouse from Cinderella) get up. Turns out Noah liked Cinderella's wand more than his own costume...

Time for a new comb...

Love how gentle and caring Lily is with George, but it's been tough lately to explain why some combs are for Lily and some brushes are for Georgie.
