Weekend Update

A few highlights from a fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa...

Mmmm... brunch at Busboys & Poets.
Enjoying some time near the Reflecting Pool... Lily loved watching the ducks!

Direct quote from Lily -- "Cmon Grandma and Grandpa... let's go up the stairs!"

Our happy little fam...

The downside to no diapers...

No matter how much we talk about the fact that you only need a LITTLE toilet paper, this is what I find more times than not... Lily can unroll a roll of tp in 10 seconds flat.

Budding Artist?

Lily's art has really developed lately! Granted we are always painting, coloring or working on some type of crafty project - but I guess with the craziness of having two kids in the house, I didn't realize how much her drawing has changed. I passed by as she was coloring yesterday and, instead of the usual scribbles and lines, saw definite shapes and even faces! I asked J. if he had been drawing with her, which he hadn't... then I checked out her chalkboard... very cool to see what she's drawing these days. As you can tell in the photo, she was SO proud to tell us about the eyes and nose she had drawn on the face. She likes to tell us that she's drawing Mommy and Daddy!

Daddy's Girl

I love this photo...

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Jeremy's birthday was last week... Lily was very happy to help her daddy open some of his birthday presents, including some fun new Cubs stuff. Lily also had fun hanging out with Pops and Grandma, who came to DC to celebrate Jeremy's birthday with us.

Tagalong

Anything Lily does, she wants her little brother to join. It's great to see how much she likes Noah... she was sitting in her room with a book yesterday, and I was holding Noah. She decided she wanted him in the chair with her and the little guy seemed pretty satisfied to be hanging out with his big sis.

Jackpot

A box of great Chiefs gear arrived yesterday, just in time for Opening Day. A big thank you to Lily's Grandma!!! The weather got warm again here so we couldn't wear our hoodies quite yet... so we put our jerseys on and headed to breakfast and the park in true fan style.

Even Daddy wore a hat...

Hanna, hanna, hanna...

... equals rain, rain, rain. Lily kept asking to go out and splash in the puddles. Finally, after hours of questions, we gave in.

Float like a butterfly...

A little Halloween preview... yesterday, Lily and I ran into one of Lily's friends in our neighborhood when we were having breakfast at Sidamo - and Bryn was in a Tigger costume. Lily was really interested in talking about costumes when we walked to the park after breakfast. I mentioned to Lily that there was a butterfly costume in her closet, and she could hardly wait to get home and try it on...
Then she wanted to get Noah involved, but he wasn't quite ready to try on his costume...
