Halloween, Part 2

Heading out for some evening trick-or-treating closer to home... Lily was excited to have Grandma and Grandpa in town to join in the fun!

Lily and Annie quickly caught onto the idea of collecting candy from their neighbors...
Here they are catching up with other kids in the 'hood...
One kid wired, one kid out... time to head home!

Halloween, Part 1

This morning we went trick-or-treating at Jeremy's office. What a fun way to start off the day!

Fun at the Park...

Lily loves horses

We were excited for a horse show in DC last weekend, but sadly the rain meant the pony pavilion was closed. This was a close as Lily got to riding a horse.

Lily & Kathleen

Lily loves our friend and neighbor, Kathleen. If she happens to look out our front window and see Kathleen walking her dog, Lily will run to the front door and yell, "Kathleen, Hoover... come play with me!" Check out a recent masterpiece by the two of them...

Birthdays and bubbles

Lily had a great time last weekend at the birthday party of one of her friends... it was at one of her favorite playground in DC, and she got to blow bubbles!

Noah liked this slide in utero, too...

Storytellers

Big Girl

Lily absolutely refused to go to breakfast this morning without doing her Mr. T impersonation...

Two Favorites at Once

Lily was so excited when her friend Anastasia stopped by yesterday afternoon. Annie and her parents had just gotten back from the Maryland game (yup, they're Terps fans, but we like them anyway), so she brought a football. The girls had a fabulous time playing catch in front of our house.

Jack-o-Lantern

Forgot to post these last weekend... Lily had a great time with Daddy as they carved a jack-o-lantern. Even Noah seemed pretty intrigued! Here is Jeremy showing us the look he was going for on the pumpkin...

Fall Farm Visit... take two

Lily had such a blast at Cox Farms last weekend that when we asked her what she wanted to do yesterday, she of course replied, "Pick a pumpkin!" So... we took a drive out to Homestead Farm (which is turning into a quarterly excursion, given that they also have strawberries and Christmas trees at different times throughout the year).

Helping herself to a little snack.

Noah snuggled with his mama while Lily collected more apples. It's actually surprisingly easy to take day trips with them both... I don't remember being brave enough to take Lily for long car rides when she was 3-4 months old, but we've really been enjoying getting out of the city on Saturdays lately. We end up staying closer to home on Sunday, usually grabbing brunch somewhere before heading to the park... and of course making sure we're home in time for football!

Busboy? Or poet? My hope is for the latter.

Well we liked Busboys & Poets so much last weekend that we joined some friends for brunch there again this past weekend. They have a new location that's closer to home, but they haven't opened on weekend mornings yet... so we're still willing to trek over to U Street in the name of good food and a chill vibe.

Pumpkins

Lily has been incessantly asking us to go get a pumpkin, so we gave in over the weekend and headed out to Cox Farms. On the hayride with Lily deciding to toss around a little hay...

Lily had to stop and have a little chat with all the animals, and there were quite a few!
Take a closer look at the anatomical location of the slide... all I kept thinking was how unfortunate it was for the poor dinosaur.

Insert Lily's grunting noises here...
Well, now she's just showing off.

We kept trying to reassure her that we weren't going to take her pumpkin... but she kept giving us this look like "You're shifty."
Notice the war paint on my cheek? We decided to let Lily do our face painting...

Once we got home, Lily wanted to give her pumpkin some marker and sticker details.
